Happiness is a Warm…Film?

October 5, 2010

In honor of John Lennon’s 70th birthday, I would like to dedicate this post to him. But don’t worry, it will still be about a film.

All over the world, people are celebrating the life of the late Beatle. His music and work as a peace-activist have managed to live on almost 3o years after his death.

Opening Oct. 8, “Nowhere Boy,” a film about Lennon’s childhood, is expected to be a treat for Beatle fans, and film lovers alike.

Now, I’m not a big fan of liking a musician or a band because they are “trendy,” so I’m looking forward to this film. I’m hoping  “Nowhere Boy” will be an escape from the mainstream market of trendy T-shirts and fads that revolve around a name or band. This is just another reason why I love independent films!

Sundance gives it 4 out of 5 stars, and the film has disappointing score of  7.0 out of 10 on IMDb.
