October 13, 2010

Youth passes all too quickly, and the film “Never Let Me Go” is ready to explore what happens next.

Based on a novel by the Japenese-born British author Kazuo Ishiguro, “Never Let Me Go” is a drama narrated by the character played by Carey Mulligan — Kathy.

The film was released in select theaters in mid-September, and received positive reviews from many sources, including FilmJournal.com. Check locations and showtimes on Fandango to see where it’s is playing near you.

The film surrounds the lives of three friends and their experiences after they attended a boarding school on the English countryside. Life purposes are examined as they grow and struggle into adulthood. Jealousy, betrayal and love are common themes that will test the strength of their friendship.

Reality, expressed through the characters of Carey Mulligan, Andrew Garfield and Keira Knightley, will be the key determinant in the outcome of the young adults’ lives. Can they accept the past and come to terms with the future? Or will they remain in a the in-between place of nonacceptance and tragic uncertainty?

Can you look forward and not look back?
